Overview

The HXGN-12, 24, 40.5 kV box-type fixed AC metal-clad ring network switchgear (hereinafter referred to as the ring main unit or switchgear) is designed for use in industrial and mining enterprises, residential communities, high-rise buildings, schools, parks, as well as wind and photovoltaic power distribution systems. It serves as an indoor, three-phase AC 12 kV, 24 kV, or 40.5 kV, 50 Hz ring network power supply unit and terminal distribution device. This equipment can reliably interrupt or make connections with rated load currents and no-load currents of transformers, while also handling open/close operations on overhead lines, cable lines, or capacitive currents up to specified distances. Additionally, the load switch-fuse combination switchgear is capable of interrupting rated short-circuit currents in a single operation. In power systems, these devices are essential for protecting distribution networks, efficiently distributing electrical energy, and providing precise control—while incorporating advanced "five-protection" interlocking features to ensure operational safety and reliability.

This switchgear complies with the national standards GB3906 "AC Metal-Enclosed Switchgear and Control Equipment Rated from 3.6 kV to 40.5 kV," GB/T11022 "Common Technical Requirements for High-Voltage Switchgear and Control Equipment," as well as the international standards IEC60298 "AC Metal-Enclosed Switchgear and Control Equipment Rated Above 1 kV but Not Exceeding 52 kV," and IEC60694 "Common Specifications for High-Voltage Switchgear and Control Equipment."

Model and Its Meaning

Normal operating conditions

1 Ambient air temperature not exceeding 40°C, with a 24-hour average no higher than 35°C, and a minimum ambient air temperature of -25°C;

2 Altitude not exceeding 1000m;

3 The surrounding air is free from significant contamination by dust, smoke, corrosive or flammable gases, vapors, or salt spray;

4 Relative Humidity: The average relative humidity measured over 24 hours shall not exceed 95%, and the average water vapor pressure measured over 24 hours shall not surpass 2.2 kPa. Additionally, the monthly average relative humidity should remain below 90%, with the monthly average water vapor pressure staying under 1.8 kPa.

5. During equipment installation, the tilt angle relative to the vertical plane should not exceed 5°.

6. The equipment should be installed in a location free from severe vibrations and shocks.

Structural Features

The HXGN ring main unit cabinet features a cabinet structure assembled by connecting C-channel steel sections with bolts. It is primarily equipped with the VS1-12 vacuum circuit breaker and the FZN-12 type vacuum load switch. The vacuum load switch, when paired with a fuse equipped with an impactor, forms a combined electrical device. The ring main unit can be flexibly configured with CTs, PTs, and HY5W surge arresters. Additionally, the cabinet is fitted with a removable, movable bottom cover for easy cable entry; for overhead cable connections, a busbar channel can be optionally installed based on customer requirements.
